Does ExplorePDF change my original file?

No. Save a Copy and every task that makes a PDF write a new file. The original remains unchanged.

Which platforms are available?

ExplorePDF is available for Mac, iPhone and iPad from the App Store, Android from Google Play, and Windows from the Microsoft Store. A Linux version is not available.

Can ExplorePDF search a scanned PDF?

ExplorePDF 1.3 includes text recognition on Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android and Windows. Android recognizes English text on the device. Check the result before saving a new copy.

Why is a form field locked?

ExplorePDF 1.3 fills ordinary form fields on Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android and Windows. Read only, password and scripted fields may be locked. Check any message shown for that field.

Is Sign a digital signature?

No. Sign places a picture of your signature on the PDF, including in Windows 1.3. It does not create a certificate-backed digital signature or make a claim about legal effect.

Does ExplorePDF upload my documents?

No. ExplorePDF processes documents on your device and does not upload them to a document-processing server. If you choose Share, your selected destination handles the file under its own terms. Platform stores and operating systems separately handle app delivery, updates and any diagnostics allowed by your device settings.

Does the app update itself?

The App Store, Google Play and Microsoft Store handle updates for their versions. ExplorePDF does not ship a separate updater.

Can ExplorePDF open Word documents?

No. ExplorePDF works with PDFs and can turn images into a PDF. It does not convert Word documents.
